Meet the Team

Duey Freeman & Josh Nichol

World renowned Horse Trainer JOSH NICHOL and worldwide Teacher, Trainer, Licensed Therapist, & Equine Professional DUEY FREEMAN offer this exceptional intimate clinic to participants coming with, or without horses. It will be a closed group and fully confidential.

IMPORTANT: Please watch this video prior to application.

  • This collaborative clinic with Josh Nichol and Duey Freeman is designed to support horses and humans through awareness, safety, and meaningful connection. Rather than focusing on quick fixes or rigid outcomes, this clinic creates a relational container where our relational patterns can be seen clearly, explored with support, and develop a new mindset integrated in a way that lasts. (Here I might suggest something like “a mindset integrated in a way that is embodied”

Through a thoughtful balance of individual sessions and collaborative work, participants are guided to listen more deeply to what their horse is communicating emotionally, physically, and relationally and to understand how their own presence plays a role in that conversation. In this conversation we may explore the participants' process as deeply as we explore our horses' process.

    • Understand Attachment Theory

    • To learn about “contact” and how we may either promote or inhibit contact in a relationship.

    • To create emotional and relational safety for both horse and human

    • To explore what horses mirror through movement, behavior, and connection

    • To support awareness that builds correction

    • To help participants integrate learning in a way that feels clear, grounded, and usable at home through all of life.

This clinic is suitable for horse people of all disciplines who are open to learning more about themselves, observing more closely, and building a deeper relationship with themselves, their horses and their world. We will invite you as a participant to explore your instinctual and intuitive relational process with yourself and your horse.

  • Welcome Evening (Prior to Day 1)
Participants gather for an informal welcome evening to meet Josh, Duey, and one another. This evening helps set the tone for the clinic, establishes shared values, and allows everyone to arrive calmly and grounded before the work begins.

Day 1 – Individual Foundations (Josh Nichol) Duey will observe and assist Josh.
Each participant receives a 45-minute individual session with Josh.
    This day is designed to:

    • Help participants feel safe and supported

    • Offer a soft entry into the clinic environment

    • Establish awareness of key relational or emotional themes

    • Meet each horse-and-human pair exactly where they are

    Days 2 & 3 – Collaborative Exploration
    (Josh Nichol & Duey Freeman)
These days form the heart of the clinic. Josh and Duey work together with each participant, supporting whatever the horse presents at the moment and what this brings up for individuals.

    Sessions may explore:

    • Emotional, relational and attachment patterns between horse and rider

    • What we store in our bodies and how that impacts our world

    • How our energy shifts and impacts our ability to communicate

    • How horses mirror human presence, tension, or intention

    • We will explore how we make and hold “contact” with our horses in an “I - Thou - We” relationship.

Participants benefit not only from their own sessions, but also from witnessing others, as shared themes often emerge throughout the group.

    Day 4 – Integration & Closure
    (Josh Nichol, supported by Duey)
The final day returns to 45-minute individual sessions with Josh.
    This day is focused on:

    • Integration of learning

    • Clarifying insights from the clinic

    • Supporting confidence and direction moving forward

    • Helping participants “close the circle” before returning home

Closing Ceremony (Final Day) (Lead by Duey)
The clinic concludes with a closing ceremony to acknowledge the shared experience, honor the horses, and support emotional completion. Participants leave with a clearer understanding of what they’ve learned and how to carry it forward.

    • A strong emphasis on safety and belonging in relationship

    • A blend of individual attention and collaborative group learning

    • Two experienced professionals offering complementary perspectives

    • A complete learning arc: arrival, exploration, integration, and closure
